Quavo pays tribute to Takeoff during Grammys 2023

At the 2023 Grammys, Quavo paid an emotional tribute to his late nephew and groupmate Takeoff, who passed away on November 1st.

Quavo took the stage with Maverick City Music to perform "Without You" in honor of Takeoff's life and legacy.

The Migos rapper was dressed in all black, with a simple silver chain and a half-face mask, and he was surrounded by choir singers as he began his "In Memoriam" tribute.

During the performance, two members of the choir joined in to sing "See You Again" by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa.

Although Offset, the third member of Migos, was not present on stage, Kacey Musgraves paid tribute to Loretta Lynn with a rendition of "Coal Miner's Daughter" just before Quavo's performance.

Later, a star-studded performance of "Songbird" by Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, and Bonnie Raitt honored Christine McVie.

Quavo's tribute marked his first public appearance since the tragic death of Takeoff, who was shot and killed at the age of 28 following an altercation at a party.

Nearly two weeks after Takeoff's death, Quavo posted an emotional letter to his "angel" on Instagram, where he expressed how hard it was to say goodbye.

In the letter, Quavo reflected on his relationship with Takeoff and the realization that he was more than just a nephew, but their guardian angel.
